A stealthy way to wear Lycra cycling shorts

hummvee cycling shorts

Want the practical qualities of Lycra, but don’t feel comfortable with the look of tight shorts? We might have the answer for you.

Endura Hummvee cycling shorts are described as mountain bike gear, but we think their appeal is far broader. For a start, they offer commuters a practical, comfortable and warm way to wear shorts all year round.

The shorts feature an adjustable belted waist and Velcro leg adjustment that allows a custom fit, but best of all, they boast a detachable, padded six-panel removable liner that’s effectively a pair of Lycra cycling shorts. The Hummvee shorts also feature two rear tabbed large map pockets, two front zipped pockets, a side cargo pocket and a zipped mobile phone pocket.

Endura Hummvee shorts features

  • Made from Teflon-treated nylon with side- zipped ventilation
  • Two large map pockets, two front zipped pockets, cargo pocket and zipped mobile phone pocket
  • Stretch lower back panel and seamless stretch inner leg panel
  • Six-panel ‘Clickfast’ removable liner
  • Adjustable belt

I often have to walk long distances after having cycled to a start point for the walk. Walking in normal cycle shorts is uncomfortable, so these Hummvee shorts would be ideal

These shorts look like they would be ideal for commuting or more social riding. I think it might help to reduce aggressive behaviour towards lycra wearing cyclists by other road users.

Are these still Teflon-coated? I thought this specification from the product page meant Endura had found a more environmentally-friendly solution. “PFC-Free, non-toxic durable water repellent finish”

    I would prefer a 3/4 length pair if I won! 🙂
