It would seem strange if a car’s brake pedal worked only the front wheels, so why do bicycles have separate levers to control the front and rear stoppers?
There are already twin-cable brake levers on the market for bicycles, but the drawback of such a system is that an equal amount of pressure front and rear, which is not always desirable.
Slidepad is a braking system, operated by a single lever, that prevents the front wheel from locking up by changing the braking force according to the conditions; if too much front brake is applied, and the rear wheel begins to lift off the ground, the front brake is instantly released. The design is aimed at novice cyclists who fear locking up their bike’s front wheel and rely only on the rear brake, which is almost always less effective. The Slidepad system is demonstrated in the film below.
