Autumn cycling: Protect your bike from bad weather

Won’t be long until we’re all reaching for base layers, hats, gloves and extra lights. But what about weather protection for your bike?

Keeping a bicycle under cover protects it from wet weather as well as prying eyes. However, with urban areas short on garages and sheds, for many it’s easier said than done.

When a tent maker was challenged to address the problem, the result was Bike Parka – a fitted, waterproof cover for bicycles.

Just as traditional cagoules have been replaced by waterproof, yet breathable jackets, Bike Parka offers a technical alternative to the basic tarpaulins of old.

Manufactured from rip-stop, the lightweight material used to fabricate sails, parachutes and kites, the Bike Parka features sealed seams, an elasticated fit and a slot through which to pass a lock.

Win a Bike Parka

We have a Bike Parka Stash cover worth £30 to give away. To be in with a chance of winning, simply leave us a comment at the bottom of this page and let us know what type of bike you’d use it to cover.

Being a Parka, I think it would best cover a Vespa, although it’s probably better suited to my commuter 🙂

Recently replaced our Dawes twin galaxy with an e assist Orbit velocity from JD Tandems. If I were lucky could I have a tandem cover. Thanks.

I have a Giant gravel bike I use most of the time and my shed in winter is full of garden tables and lawn mowers and anyway leaks. To be able to fit a lock through the cover sounds brilliant.
