Aura LED bicycle flashing light belt

In the Netherlands, most cyclists would no sooner attach torches to their cars than ride a bike without a good-quality dynamo, but we British are more likely to opt for LED lights – which now come in all shapes and sizes.

The Aura is a nylon webbing belt with a flexible LED and fibre optic lighting system embedded within. It can be set to emit a constant glow, slow pulse or a strobing flash.

An illuminated belt means you need never be without a rear light

The Netherlands: almost all rear lights on Dutch bicycles have been LED’s for at least the last ten years now. The better types have a ‘low battery’ warning indicator and an ‘auto’ setting that switches them on when dusk falls. For their front lights most people prefer the reliabilty and convenience of a dynamo, although LED front lights have become more popular. Again for convenience, these are permanently fixed to the bikes, just as dynamo lights are. Flashing lights however, front or rear, are not permitted.

Nice idea that would really stand out. Hopefully this identifies you as a person( cyclist or pedestrian), rather than just a blinding light, as drivers (including me( would not expect to see a light band; This would be very useful where I live as there are no street lights.
