Heads-up display for cyclists

The heads-up display technology that was originally developed for pilots and was eventually offered as an optional extra by luxury car makers is now available in a far simplified form for elite cyclists who want to monitor their power, cadence and speed.

Sportiiiis (Sport Eyes) is a heads-up display that attaches to almost any design of sunglasses. The compact unit displays performance data via multi-coloured LEDs on a small boom positioned just below the wearer’s line of sight.

The LEDs can be programmed to visually respond to devices such as a heart rate strap, you can create a custom setup for how the LEDs will respond to your heart rate. Alternatively, the unit can work like an audible heart rate monitor.

The heads-up display costs from around £130.
