World’s longest bicycle wheelie

An eight-mile bicycle wheelie completed this week by Aaron Stannage, from Barnsley, South Yorkshire is likely to earn the 14-year-old a place in the record books.

It will take Guinness World Records officials a few weeks to determine whether Aaron has established a new record, but it is thought that this is the first time anyone had attempted to wheelie the maximum distance within one hour.

During his record attempt, Aaron circled an indoor racing track more than 90 times while listening to his iPod to pass the time. Watch a film of the record attempt below

Wheelie good cycle insurance

Cycling is not an extreme sport – most people use both wheels. However, bikes are vulnerable to theft and in the case of an accident you may need to seek compensation or even deal with a claim by someone else. Cycle insurance from the ETA is fully comprehensive. It includes new-for-old replacement, cover for accidental damage, third party insurance, personal accident cover and if you breakdown, we will even come out and recover you and your bike.
