Mercedes-Benz launches young driver scheme

Mercedes-Benz has launched a new scheme which aims to educate youngsters about driving.

The firm has opened its Driving Academy, which offers lessons for children as young as 12.

Those aged between 12 and 16 can take the pre-road module which will see them taught the basics of motoring, including numerous safety issues such as difficulty weather conditions and how to deal with these.

Courses are also available for provision licence holders and those who have recently passed their test.

Peter O’Halloran, marketing director for Mercedes-Benz World, said that learning to drive is like playing in instrument, in that people become better with practice.

He added: "With Mercedes-Benz, students start learning to drive at a younger age, which removes the stress of passing the actual driving test."
