Drivers ‘putting themselves at risk’

Drivers that reduce the level of motor insurance policy they take out are putting themselves at financial risk, according to the British Insurance Brokers’ Association

Research by the organisation has shown that 23 percent of people have reduced their level of cover. Cost-cutting measures included increasing the level of excess on their policy.

A spokesperson for the Environmental Transport Association (ETA) said: “There is nothing wrong with saving money, but cost cutting can be a false economy if it leaves you out of pocket in the event of an accident.”

Green motoring

The ETA provides motorists and cyclists with green breakdown cover and campaigns campaign for sustainable transport.
