Hundreds of cyclists around the country are rallying behind a ten-year-old boy who has planned his own charity ride in honour of his baby brother.
Felix Mallinder from Dundee has been so impressed by his younger brother’s fortitude and good cheer during his continuing treatment for leukaemia that he plans to cycle 12 miles in honour of the two-year-old he has nicknamed ‘Mighty Finn’.
Felix set out with the intention of raising £50 for a cancer charity, but as news of his plucky endeavour has spread online, the amount donated by friends, family and fellow cyclists around the country has soared to over £2700 – and the support continues to flood in

Felix has used his fundraising page at Charity Giving to explain his bicycle ride:
“My brother Finn is 2 years old and he has Leukaemia. He was diagnosed on the 10th of April 2011, since then he has spent a lot of time in hospital.”
First he was in the Sick Kids Hospital in Edinburgh and now he is getting a lot of treatment at the Tayside Children’s Hospital based in Ninewells, Dundee. He is constantly making me laugh with his little dance to the Thomas the Tank Engine theme tune. He is very brave and a pretty cool little bro.”
“Community spirit”
Felix and his friend Craig decided to raise money by cycling 12 miles from their school to the riverside in Dundee and back.
They are raising money for TCCL (pronounced tickle), a charity that helps families who have a child with cancer.
