Pressure washers make light work of jobs that might otherwise be a real chore, but they can be too powerful for many tasks. Also, setting them up can be a faff if your garden hose is prone to kinks.
Both drawbacks are addressed by the Titan cordless pressure washer we’ve been testing. It might not be powerful enough to jet wash a patio, but it’s perfect for tackling muddy bicycles.
And there’s no need to connect to a mains water supply. You can draw water from any receptacle; bucket, watering can, water butt – anything you have handy. The 6-metre hose supplied with the pressure washer includes a filter to protect the pump from particles.
We unleashed the cordless pressure washer on a bike covered in dry, caked-on mud. It made quick work of what can be a fiddly task – even hard-to-reach areas like the axles took no time. Judging by the power level indicator, putting two buckets of water through the washer had no discernible effect on the power remining in the 5Ah battery. The instructions claim a run time of 45 minutes, although we didn’t test this ourselves.
Another plus is these battery-powered pressure washers are far quieter than their corded cousins.
Win a cordless pressure washer
We’re giving away the Titan cordless pressure washer we tested this week (one careful owner and used only once!). It’s worth £110 and we were so impressed by it, at least one person in the office is going to buy their own. To be in with a chance of bagging it, simply leave us a comment below.
The ethical choice
The ETA was established in 1990 as an ethical provider of green, reliable travel services. Over 30 years on, we continue to offer cycle insurance , breakdown cover and mobility scooter insurance while putting concern for the environment at the heart of all we do.
The Good Shopping Guide judges us to be the UK’s most ethical provider.
Ed
Ok this thing looks very cool. Commenting as requested. Might even just buy one. Thanks for the recommendation!
Greg Stoner
Great for flat dwellers. This would be very useful.
pam
Brilliant for the bike and the equally muddy dog!
Susan
That’s great. Cordless I don’t believe it. I can maybe wash my car too.
Paul S
Looks good, no excuses for grimey bikes.
ABI
that looks cool and very useful, thanks for the competition
J Taylor
Mains one is such a faff as well, this looks the bees knees!
Nathan Shipley
I want to clean my bicycle. I want to clean my bike.
Dave
Like the idea of using any receptacle. Have a mains powered one from well known manufacturer, but really hard to attach to wash-basin tap, which is all I have within reach of the bikes.
Simon Livermore
Great review and thanks for the chance to get our muddy paws on one
Robbie Johnston
My bike is filthy! Could do with this badly 😄
Julian Fargher
Choose me, no pressure!
Spencer Edwards
Looks great. Just what I need for my new bike!
Justin Oakley
A very suitable pressure washer for cycles, too much pressure is not good as the water may penetrate places where water is not needed. Dried up mud may need a bit of encouragement as it always does.
Having one of these to clean the bike afterwards may encourage me more to get back onto the bike onto the local forest tracks after a number of years of ill health. Forest tracks will be safer than riding on the road until I gain confidence and speed.
Peter
What a brilliant product. Perfect for cleaning my bike any time and any where.
adam b
Looks great! Can’t wait to use one!
Amy D
This looks awesome, so convenient and easy to store.
Cameron
These look seem ideal for bike washing. Not so powerful as to wash the grease out of bearings (though still pays to be careful around those areas), can use water from a water butt rather than energy intensive treated tap water, and if you’re washing away from the water source less of the wrestling with long garden or pressure washer hoses. Considering one for the cargo bike since it’s harder to get that near a water source at our house.
Alex
This would be great for my apartment living 🙂
Rachel
This would be so useful!
DarC
My solution is better for the environment as I’m currently using a Streetwize 8L hand-pump sprayer (similar to a garden sprayer but with a soft brush attachment), probably about the same pressure as the prize above, but with no need for batteries, just fill it up with soapy water, pump it up to full pressure and wash away (can also use the lance to ‘jet’ wash/rinse off too).
Wolf Simpson
Sweet prize, be a perfect gift for someone who has no garden to clean their cycles.
Bikery
Looks great for washing bikes.
Lesley Wallwork
We had just the other day spoken about buying one of these the roads around us are so mucky it would be a very useful addition to our normal cleaning tools.
Iain
I’ve been putting off cleaning my bike for a while, but that pressure washer looks ideal.
Sara Garside
Oooh, what a difference this would make to my life…
Using a pump action hozelock shower but it just doesn’t have the oomph to push the dirt away
Please consider me
Thank you
Anthony
I feel under pressure to nip out and clean mine!
Mark Slater
Very handy if you live in a flat!
Sarah Watmore
That looks like a great post-ride solution compared to my kinked, split hose that I really need to replace! And easier to direct under mudguards and in the nooks and crannies too.
Gary Outram
As close as you can get to an automatic bike wash. A clean bike is a happy bike.
Nathan Shipley
I want to clean my bicycle. I want to clean my bike.
Tracy
Looks great for cleaning bike and more.
Janette
If it’s as easy to use as it was to set up a policy with ETA, I want one 🙂
Yousaf Mirza
Hi. Looks amazing. What a cool gadget! Yousaf
Mark
I didn’t know that such a thing as a cordless pressure washer even existed! What a fabulous idea.
Craig
I certainly agree that normal pressure washers are way to powerful for many applications, so this looks to be a PERFECT tool for cyclists!
Andrew
I don’t think I have ever washed my bike. Always a first time!

Perfect for Dotty 🙂
Thomas
Nice kit to have to hand after a muddy ride in the forest.

Torun
Best give-away ever!!!!
No more hose-wash more glam-wash/spray!!!
Please can I have one.

Ooooh shiny, it’s nice to have the shiny. Keeping a bike shiny on soggy days not so easy – this looks like it can power through most things!
Peter Clark
I hate getting a traditional pressure washer set up to give my bikes a really quick weekly clean. I have never wanted to win an ETA prize more!!
Chris
Star prize – would love to win this
Andrew McKellar
Looks the business
Lucy
mud beware….
Steve K
It looks great for washing bikes, and lots of other things as well
Mags
This would be perfect for cleaning my bikes, as I have a garage but no access to outside mains electric or water (it’s a first floor flat), Might have to buy one if I don’t win!
Penny Price
This looks like a brilliant tool, lots of uses I can put this to as well as keeping my lovely bike clean…
Gina
I’ve been looking for something like this for ages. This one looks great and as I don’t have a handy outside tap would make life a lot easier!
Richard B
Looks like an ideal piece of kit to solve the age old problem of putting filthy Mountain bikes back on the car roof!
Thomas Lankester
This would be a real boon as we currently use a hard water mains supply looped round from the back of the house. Being able to use rainwater direct from the front garden water butt would be a win win, especially as we now have an electric motor-trike in addition to our pushbikes.
Vick
Looks great for cleaning our bikes and our caravan.
Pete G
What a brilliant piece of kit. Just what I need to keep the bike clean without a mains supply.
James
Looks a great idea for the muddy world we live in!
Alex T
Sounds perfect, count me in!
Martin Broomfield
Pogacar, et al, could do with one of these from last weekend’s Strade Bianche. But I wouldn’t mind one of these either!
Tracey
Such a neat piece of kit. Would be amazing to use waste water for washing instead of the mains water.
Pamela
I’ve struggled with a bucket of water and brushes – this would be much more effective and enjoyable.
I’d love one.
Bazza
Fantastic, no need for mains, using rain water from my water butt to clean my bikes. What an environmentally sound idea. I’d love to clean up with this.
Peter Barrett
It will make me clean my bike

H.Newson
Would welcome opportunity to test

I’m in to win on this prize. It would save me buying it. Gucci kit!
David Wharton
I’m not getting any exercise, because I’m so ashamed to be seen on my filthy road bike. This little wonder could be my route back to health and fitness.
Gary
I feel a water fight coming on!
Jonathan M
There’s so much mud on the roads at the moment that this would be ideal to clean the bike quickly before the mud dries on.
Kelly Smith
I could definitely use one of these!
Steve
No pressure then…
Bikey Mikey
Isn’t awful to see a bike glide by covered in mud without any pride? Similar to life but with such a simple solution!
Andy
Like to try one of these out on the bike

Just the job,
particularly now I’m 89.
Sarah
Spraytacular bit of kit.
Colin
in my head I’m already washing my bike . . .

Perfect, the nozzle on my hose has cracked so is more like a sprinkler. I get as wet as the bike sometimes
This would make life easier
Jennie Geddes
I really will clean my bike this time
Jane R
This would be fab for muddy bikes, dogs etc. save my back bending down so much.
Philip GREGG
Such a neat device. The portability is especially attractive for bike owners who don’t have access to a garden and a hose. You can wash your bike anywhere with a bucket for water. Great for rinsing off mountain bike after a muddy ride.

Lovely stuff!
