Hydaway water bottle: Reusable, collapsible cool

The Hydaway is a collapsible and reusable water bottle for the iPod generation that aims to reduce the 50 billion plastic water bottles discarded each year in America alone. The brightly-coloured accessory makes an interesting alternative to a conventional bicycle bidon, too.

Hydaway bottle

The Hydaway water bottle is intended to be filled from the tap – a source that is cheaper, environmentally-friendlier and more rigorously tested than water bought from a shop.

When empty it collapses into a small disc that that can be stored easily.

As well as a convenient way to stay hydrated, the Hydaway is a clever way to bypass airport restrictions on water bottles; when you get to the security check, simply finish any water, fold the Hydaway into a thin disc, and slide it into your pocket. Once you have passed through security, pop open the Hydaway and replenish it from the nearest water fountain. Find out more about the Hydaway bottle via Kickstarter or enter our prize draw to win one.

This is great, ideal for walkers whom have no bag, or for scouts needing a space saver. I could use it when I do race for life less to carry.
