An illuminated halo for your bicycle

bikehalo bicycle wheel lights

While the evenings are still long, you can afford to be a bit more creative with your bike lights. And in any case, your bicycle does such a good job of keeping you fit, reducing congestion and safeguarding the environment that it deserves its very own halo.

The VeloHalo uses loops of LED lights to transform your wheels into ethereal discs of light – white for the front and red for the rear.

The wheel lights are waterproof and have a 20-hour battery life before they need recharging via the USB port. The design is unnoticeable during daylight hours, fits almost every type of wheel and requires no tools to fit.

The VeloHalo lights are not recommended for shrinking violets. In fact, so confident is the company that its wheel lights will win you admiring glances, they offer a no-quibble money-back guaranteed if your lights have not received a compliment after 10 nights of cycling.  Halo-Effect™ Money Back Guarantee
1 compliment on your VeloHalo in 10 nights of cycling or your money back.

A set of VeloHalo wheel lights costs £48.99 to from  hikari.bike but we have a set to give away.

Environmentally friendly cycle insurance

On the face of it, one cycle insurance policy is much like another, but the devil is the detail. How much excess you will be charged is just one of the things that varies wildly between providers. Another is so called ‘new-for-old’ replacement – many insurers use this term, but if your bicycle is more than a few years old, devalue it severely. This means you are left out of pocket when you come to replace it.

ETA cycle insurance has a low standard excess of 5% (minimum £25) and offers a new-for-old for life – however old the bike, if it’s stolen you get enough to buy a new model.

For over 26 years we have been providing straightforward, affordable bicycle insurance. Whether you use your bike to commute, shop, race or amble in the park, ETA Bicycle Insurance has you covered.

These look great! Why doesn’t every bike have lights like this anyway?!

My son lives only for his beloved Carrera Vendetta affectionately called Vanessa. These rims would look spectacular on his bike, for when he goes out with his squad and does wheelies. Would look lovely at night, and keep him safe due to being visible.

My bike is recovering from a broken rear axle (thank you, Cambs CC!) and an over-tired chain, so it would definitely feel better about itself with a set of halo lights! 😇

They do look pretty brilliant. Or is that “pretty” AND “brilliant”?

    But…

Although they are not removable, they do look nickable.
So if they do get stolen from the bike, will they be covered by my bike insurance?
Also, can you get replacement batteries?

My bike was given to me for a really amazing price by my very kind local bike shop after its twin got stolen when it was just 2 weeks old (and stupidly I hadn’t got round to insuring it yet). So it’s pretty special and deserves a treat!

After an injury enforced 4 week period totally off the bike, aka purgatory, I have been having some pretty hellish😈 bike envy, and driven my family to depths of irritation! I have to get the miles in for my first closed roads 100 soon, so having a bike halo would make me more of a saint, and less of a sinner!, 😇😇

I bought a white bike to be as visible as possible. I these would add to that measure while more elegant than those spinner lights on the spokes.

I have 2 lights on the front of my bike, 2 on the back, another on my jacket, reflectors front and back as well as on the wheels and pedals and my jacket is hi-vis range with reflective stripes (there are more on my waterproof trousers if it’s raining).
Despite this apparently I was invisible to the motorist who pulled out in front of me and the lady who forgot she was overtaking me when she tried to turn left.
Apparently I need these lights on my wheels too.

And whilst trying to set a good example to the today’s younger generation (& there parents ) cycle the short journey by bike in all but the very worst weather.

As someone who lives and breathes cycling these are perfect for me, I commute to and from work, university and work on behalf of deliveroo in a busy city.

These would massivley reduce the blindspots to cars keeping me safe and look awesome to the other riders as a trend setter fot safety. Being on the shift from 17:00-23:00 in the winter last year I could of really done with these, and hope to get some for the following ‘winter is coming’ XD

As the somewhat reluctant cyclist in a bike-filled family, I’ve historically tended to try and avoid cycling whenever possible. However, I have accepted that after getting my offer to study at Cambridge in September, and realising that my student loan won’t cover both my insatiable appetite for biscuits and public transport, my lovely bike will soon be my only way to get around. As well as being an important safety feature for a newbie cyclist, these lights would be a beautiful addition to my bike and might even mean I really enjoy riding it! There is also little more exciting than the prospect of being known as the glowing student (some may say biscuit-delivering angel) of Cambridge!
