September 15, 2009

Peugeot has become the latest company to announce a new hybrid car.

The firm is unveiling its diesel hybrid RCZ at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which starts today (September 15th).

According to the company, the concept car will deliver fuel economy of 76.36mpg and emissions of 95kg/km.

The vehicle also boasts 200bhp and can go from 0-62 in 8.5 seconds, which is achieved through the use of a two-litre diesel engine and a 37bhp electric motor.

Its makers said that the coupe will go into full production if demand is high enough.

The firm has already taken steps into this market, with its 3008 Hybrid4 set for release in early 2011.

Peugeot is one of several company set to unveil hybrids vehicles at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
