Half the bike, twice the price
March 21, 2014
Attempts to improve on the efficiency of the bicycle are doomed to fail, but the Halfbike’s combination of cycling and ‘bike jogging’ appears to offer a fun alternative way to move around the city; like a cross between a unicycle and a child’s scooter, the design promises to bring 'joy to urban mobility'.

Surprisingly nimble and fast, the Halfbike is aimed at short commutes as well as recreational riding.
Will it catch on?
The massive popularity of micro scooters among children – and the parents who ride them home after dropping off their kids – demonstrates the appetite for well-made mobility devices. However beautifully constructed the £500 Halfbike, with a price tag twice that of a bicycle, it may be destined to remain a niche product.
