Gloves with inbuilt LEDs ideal for winter cycling
January 6, 2011
Lightweight gloves with inbuilt LED lights could prove just the thing for cyclists wanting to supplement their headlight, signal to drivers or change a tyre in the dark.
The two single-bulb LEDs are mounted on a Velcro base that can be positioned at four points on the glove.
The battery lasts for 14 hours.
LED there be light
The robust, powerful, inexpensive lights made possible by LEDs have transformed cycle lighting.
A spokesperson for the Environmental Transport Association (ETA) said: “An increasing number of cyclists are discovering the advantages of head-mounted LED lights and these glove lights could prove just as useful.”
The gloves cost £8 from Amazon.com or a similar (but more expensive) design can be found on ebay by searching for ‘Sealey Mechanics Gloves with LED’.
Another bright idea: fully-comp cycle insurance
Cycle insurance from the ETA includes, amongst other things, new-for-old, £1m third party cover, personal accident cover, race event cover, worldwide cover and if you suffer a mechanical breakdown, we will come out and recover you and your bike.
