Simple cycle storage up for grabs

neat cleats

With warmer weather due to arrive any time soon, what better time to take control of the way you store your cycling gear? If you’ve ever found yourself in trouble for leaving cycling gear lying around, salvation may be here in the form of Neat Cleats – a small and stylish device to gather up your cycling shoes and hang them put of the way.

A carabiner makes it easy to clip your cycling shoes over the clothing rail in a wardrobe, on a coat hook or anywhere else you fancy. The designers have even thrown in a bottle opener on this version because sometimes after a hard ride only a beer will do. Neat Cleats are also available as a wall-mounted bracket.

ETA cycle insurance

Ethical cycle insurance

On the face of it, one cycle insurance policy is much like another, but the devil is the detail. Check your small print for so-called ‘new-for-old’ replacement – many insurers use the term, but if your bicycle is more than a few years old, devalue it severely. This means you are left out of pocket when you come to replace it.

With ETA cycle insurance, however old the bike, if it’s stolen you get enough to buy a new model. Furthermore, every cycle insurance policy you buy from us helps support the work of the ETA Trust, our charity campaigning for a cleaner, safer transport future. No wonder The Good Shopping Guide has voted us Britain’s most ethical insurance company.

My principle in life is “A place for everything, everything in its place”. These Neat Cleats device would define a much needed place for my damp shoes to get some air.

However, I’m a little confused: The top photo shows shoes with SPD SL cleats (road style typically), but your description mentions SPD compatible Neat Cleats (off road / commuting style typically)?

(Either is fine for me, as I’ve got both!)

I’d be curious how easy these would be to remove the shoes, as I don’t see any spring retainer like on a pedal?
