Win a track pump for your bicycle (or car)

Topeak joeblow floor pump

So powerful is the Topeak Joe Blow track pump, that it’s as happy inflating your road bike as it is the family car.

With a steel barrel and base and connectors for Presta, Schrader and Dunlop valves, the pump can inflate tyres up to a pressure of 160psi.

Keeping bicycle tyres properly inflated is the most simple of aspect bike maintenance, but it’s the one task that many cyclists overlook. Correctly inflated tyres are safer and more efficient so we’re offering a track pump as a giveaway.

I’ve had several flats recently on my daily commute and this would be just perfect to get them back up to full pressure. Thanks!!

The velcro tyres on my bike allow me to drive myself up the wall, the kevlar tyres mean I haven’t had a puncture in years, but they still need pumping up regularly.

I do a basic ‘thumb test’ to check my tyre pressures before every ride. I tend to pump the tyres and do an accurate test ever 2 or 3 weeks.

I try to check tyre pressures on the bicycle every time I ride, the motorcycle ditto but the car perhaps once a month. This pump would hopefully bring the car back into line!

I check my tyres before every ride using the “squeeze” method. If necessary I top them up to what feels right before each ride. The Joe Blow looks fantastic.

I’ve recently taken out the recovery cover, hoping never to need it. The most important part of maintenance of my bike is keeping the tyres at the recommended pressure. Punctures seem to be the most common cause of breakdowns and a track pump is far easier to achieve the pressure rather than my foot pump.

Same as Jim W above. Had mine for 10 years ,excellent product for bikes and cars. Recently discovered that I was turning the inflator switch adaptor the wrong way to inflate but it still worked beautifully. ( seems one turns it the opposite side to the adaptor in use to lock, illogical, but as I say it worked. Even better fit when one does it correctly- ha!)

Always checking the pressure before every ride and adjusting it to weather conditions (the wetter – less pressure for a better grip) as well as cleaning the rims and brake blocks afterwards and thread for any objects that shouldn’t be there. It does take a lot of effort to get up to even 60PSI with my cheapo pump.
