Pimp your ride: Win a set of moustache handlebars

moustache handlebars

Moustache handlebars might be an uncommon sight on bicycles today, but they remain a surprisingly comfortable option for tourers, road bikes and even MTBs.

The main advantage the moustache configuration has  over straight bars is its four or five distinct hand positions.

And when compared to drop bars, although you don’t get as many positions, you get better braking power and control  (compared to riding on the hoods). The other advantage is that using bar-end shifters while standing is easy.

Win a set of moustache handlebars

We have a set of white moustache handlebars to spruce up your bike. Use the comments section below to let us know what bike you would fit them to and we will pick a winner next week.

I am currently tidying up my classic Dawes Galaxy 531ST touring bike and these bars look like they would provide an improvement in comfort.

My stiff old back can’t cope with drop handlebars these days, so I am converting my Ribble Audax winter training bike to flat bars. My back thanks you in advance! 🙂

Suit my 1970’s Cliff Shrub special. Currently with drop bars but getting a bit low as I’m now reaching old age. Moustache bars should save my back.

They would go on my hybrid commuting bike – or maybe my Kona mountain bike – or maybe my Giant Liv – or maybe my partners carbon, or hos boardman or maybe the eldest will take them for his Brompton or his road bike or maybe the middle one will want them for his gravel bike, or mountain bike or his road bike or his bmx. Actually, please don’t let me win them. It will all know kick off 😂😂😂
