Lamzac pop-up sofa: Glamping must-have accessory for 2017

lamzac

Whether your thing is cycling, camping or festivals, the must-have accessory for summer 2017 is the Lamzac Hangout – a pop-up sofa that seats two and packs small enough to fit in a shoe bag.

The lightweight inflatable sofa takes only seconds to fill – you simply swing it through the air – and its durable fabric means you can use it year after year.

Lamzac pop-up sofa

The Lamzac pop-up sofa is the brainchild of Marijn Oomen, who first presented the idea on a Dutch version of Dragons Den.

I’ve made critical comments about this sort of glamping rubbish in the past, it was a hot tub. You townies stay at home where you have a bed and sofa I presume and of course a shower or bath if you really can’t live a few days without home comforts. I’m sick of the urbanisation of the countryside which of course is now a money making driven, what’s wrong with the grass to sit on. All I hope is these silly beds get punctured by thorns and the people who use them get attacked by Clegs, and other biting insects whilst wearing their shorts and tee-shirts.

If you have a disability, where getting down on the grass is a struggle and specially getting up,or even sitting on a hard surface is a no no so enjoying a concert or a show isn’t possible but with this product it can make a difference for people like me I am all for it.

Exactly Jette, I am disabled and cannot get down low. Plus, because my coccyx was damaged also, I must not sit on hard things, I.e. The ground. X

Totally agree with you Jette – I am a wheelchair user and can’t wait to try one out!
I am going on holiday soon and think this could be amazing, so easy to carry and I am hoping to be able to sit/lie in comfort outside in the fresh air for the first time since I have been wheelchair dependant about 14 years ago.
Sorry Jim if you don’t think I have a right to be looking for a way to be sitting out in comfort!

Are from the Amish community? You seem to be suggesting there’s something neurotic about wanting something comfortable to sit on.

How miserable are you Jim Clark?

    • Charl

      Reply

Clearly Jim doesn’t go to many festivals in the UK where there is plenty of opportunity to sit on the sodden, rain-soaked, beer (and pee) stained grass. In which case, I would normally have to take a camping chair because I am a lazy “city dwelling” person who goes to these events to listen to music for hours on end with my drink in hand and my arse comfortably planted in my camping chair. This amazing idea would mean that I don’t need to lug that around with me and can not only sit but lie too. I can also be the kind and generous person I am by offering a seat to others. Great idea!!! I will be one of the first in line to be ordering one this Summer!!!

      • Wilson

        Reply

I agree Jim. Charl, So are you going to keep using an inflatable beer and pee stained bag? Buy an inflatable chair for a fiver and leave it or one of these. €70 for a stinking sac, yippee. This can still rip, be rendered useless all for a meagre €70. Good idea, over-inflated price (see what i did there)

        • Nick

          Reply

… and leave it there? Have you seen a festival site when everyone’s gone home and left their ‘disposable’ camping gear? All goes to landfill after being picked up (often with some difficulty) by volunteers.

Jim I honestly don’t normally comment on things such as this but I have to say that you are really not the kind of guy I would like to bump into in a forest, you don’t sound like a very friendly fella!.

This is a very simple and interesting piece of design, it is transportable and could enable you to sit or lie down and enjoy the view comfortably for hours, you enjoy sitting on the hard ground and leave anyone else to what they enjoy mr moody pants!

      Reply

Jim you need to forget about sitting on the grass and smoke it instead! For people who want to relax in the countryside then so what? It is neither a permanent structure nor damaging so surely that is a good thing?

Geez Jim Clark, who spat in your Cheerios? I think this is a great idea – a alternative to sitting on the grass, not the be all and end all, just something fun. Luckily everyone after you were so positive I had to read on. Not everyone wants to be a die hard Bear Grylls type like you think you are, fashioning a hammock out of the grass and roots on the ground. I’m now going to look for one of these fun things!!!

Yes I too cannot get down on the ground or sit for any length if time due to arthritis and back problems; I’m only out of pain when I lie down as I also cannot stand or walk-so this looks amazing – not just for camping or festivals but in my case, for long rehearsals where sitting at a piano causes me pain.

These commits were worth the read, this is better than TV, however, if you want your butt on the grass, sit on the grass, I prefer mine not on the grass. And by the way, It’s my choice as to where I plant my trail. To each his own. I also carry my folding out chair when I go fishing, I enjoy the relaxing kick back feeling while I fish. Not telling you to relax and fish, just telling you is my perogative. Have a blessed day.
