Number of electric cars should increase, says firm

London’s ‘green’ car company, No Internal Combustion Engine (Nice) is anticipating more electric vehicles on the road in the capital following Boris Johnson’s mayoral election victory.
Currently, owners of Nice’s Mega City cars do not have to pay the congestion charge and the firm believes this should continue to be the case, even though the new mayor has said he will reform the scheme.
Julian Wilford, co-founder Nice cars, said: “We know that Boris recognises the many benefits of owning an electric car.
“We have the widest range of zero-emissions vehicles on the market and hope the new mayor will find time to visit our west London base to learn more.”
The company added that, in the current climate of rising fuel prices, the cost of filling an electric car is about one-tenth of the rate for a medium-sized car capable of 35 mpg.
Last week, Business7 reported that transport giant Stagecoach has announced the launch of the country’s first carbon-neutral bus network and an extension to its biofuel scheme.
The ETA is a not-for-profit ethical organisation providing motorists with carbon-neutral breakdown cover and insurance products. As well as encouraging responsible driving to reduce carbon, the ETA campaigns for sustainable transport.
