Vehicle Inspections

  1. The vehicle inspection can usually be carried out within 48 hours of the request. This is not a guarantee. Inspections are not normally carried out on a Saturday.
  2. We will complete a full document check including classification, registration, vehicle status, service history and any repair work carried out.
  3. We visually check approximately 200 parts. We will not dismantle any parts. This includes the bodywork, engine compartment, interior/luggage compartment, suspension, clutch/drive shafts, exhaust, fuel system, brakes, wheels and tyres.
  4. We will undertake a road test.
  5. HPI check will look for any outstanding HP payments, if the vehicle is stolen or is a re-built write-off.

Arranging the vehicle inspection

We will conduct the HPI check and then arrange a convenient time and place to conduct the inspection with the seller. You do not need to be present. We will advise you of the outcome of the on the evening of the inspection and also in writing.

Depending on the result of the HPI check we may recommend that the vehicle inspection is not carried out.

To cancel a vehicle inspection

  • If we have not already carried out the HPI check or vehicle inspection then we will give you a full refund.
  • If we have carried out the HPI check only then we will charge £25 to cover the cost of this.
  • If the inspector is travelling to the inspection site then we will charge £25 and any travel costs our inspector incurred.
