Motorcycling in Parliament

This week I was in the odd situation of riding a police motorcycle right down the middle of the Palace of Westminster.

I know, first you say that you did not know that there was a road inside Parliament – yes, I was on a road and not riding a motorcycle through the Commons corridors – and second you did not know that I could ride a motorbike. Well I must say that I have not ridden one for quite a while and with a speed limit of 5mph I was not going to burn-up the Lords.

The motorcycle in question was a Vectrix, an electric-powered model that charges up from the mains.

I was sorely temped to switch on the siren in the middle of the inner courtyard. Now that would be fun.
