Greenball Rally
I turned up to watch one of the events in Green Transport Week only to find that I was to be one of the competitors albeit sitting as a passenger in a rickshaw. It was the Greenball rally which began on the Lambeth’s south bank Thame-side promenade. I had the pleasure of Siân Berry’s company and the honour of being pedaled along by Trevor Baylis – the inventor of the wind up radio. Our rivals were cycling, space hoping, in-line skating and scootering. We did not win – the prize went to the in-line skater but we gave them a tough challenge.
